The Minnesota Twins and Milwaukee Brewers were playing in a playoff like atmosphere. That wasn't enough to slow down Marwin Gonzalez, who knocked a late 3 run homer off Josh Hader to propel the Twins to a 7-5 comeback win. The Twins win, combined with the Cleveland Indians loss, puts Minnesota back into first place in the AL central. Gonzalez said after that this game was ''Amazing. We fight to the end no matter who we're facing." The Twins had been in first place all year until Monday, when the Indians passed them. They took it right back tonight.

The Twins got on the board first in the 3rd inning, when Mitch Garver cranked a two run homer and Eddie Rosario scored on a fielder's choice to make it 3-0. The Brewers got on the board in the 4th when Lorenzo Cain grounded into a fielder's choice, scoring Hernan Perez. In the 7th, Ehire Adrianza doubled to left field to score Gonzalez and make it 4-1 Twins. The Brewers took the lead in the bottom of the 7th on an RBI double by Keston Hiura and a 3 run homer by Yasmani Grandal. The Twins retook the lead in the 8th on Gonzalez's 3 run bomb.

Hader blew his 5th save of the year by allowing the homer. Hader said that ''You've just got to repeat, repeat repeat." Despite this, Drew Pomeranz got tagged with the loss for the Brewers, going 1/3 of an inning and giving up two runs. the two runs came on the two baserunners that scored on Gonzalez's homer. Tyler Duffey got the win for Minnesota, going one inning and allowing just one hit and one run. The Brewers are now 2 1/2 games behind the Cubs for the NL central lead, and sit in 3rd place.

The short two game series ends on Wednesday, with the Brewers sending Gio Gonzalez to the mound. Gonzalez is 2-1 with a 3.20 ERA this season. Minnesota counters with Kyle Gibson.
