In Zack Greinke's Houston Astros debut, he didn't have his best stuff. Fortunately for him, the Astros offense did. Greinke threw 6 innings, and the offense powered up as they beat the Colorado Rockies 11-6. Greinke said that ''Guys make it real easy. So, it didn't feel awkward at all like some other times when I've been on new teams.'' The Astros have now won 5 straight games.

Yordan Alvarez got the Astros on the board early with a two run homer to right field. In the 3rd, Michael Brantley made the lead 3 with an RBI single to right. In the 4th, Nolan Arenado hit a sac fly and Ryan McMahon doubled to make the score 3-2. In the bottom half, Yuli Gurriel homered to left field to make it 4-2. In the 6th, after Houston added a run in the bottom of the 5th, Ramiel Tapia whacked a 3 run homer to right field to tie the game at 5. The Astros then took the lead again on a Carlos Correa solo homer and a George Springer RBI single. In the 7th, Charlie Blackmon hit a solo homer, and Correa hit a two run double and Gurriel hit a two run homer.

Greinke gave up 5 runs on 7 hits and two walks, and struck out two hitters. He left after 6 innings of work. Greinke enjoyed the heavy run support, but had one complaint about the offense. He said that ''Yeah, it's kind of boring, and just trying to stay loose, staying focused not having anything to do.'' Though he's with a new team, he faced the Rockies for the 5th time this year, as he played with Colorado's division rival Arizona Diamondbacks prior to the trade.

Peter Lambert will get the start for the Rockies on Wednesday's series finale. He has a 2-2 record on the season, and his last start was a no decision. Gerrit Cole will start for the Astros. He won his 9th straight in his last start against the Cleveland Indians.
