Dodgers clinch NL west

The Los Angeles Dodgers clinched their 7th straight NL west title with a 7-3 win over the Baltimore Orioles last night. Caleb Ferguson struck out Mark Trumbo looking to secure the division. The Arizona Diamondbacks lost to the New York Mets, so the Dodgers would have won the NL west last night regardless. Since divisional play started in 1969, the Dodgers now have 19 division titles. Manager Dave Roberts is the first manager to win a division in his first 4 years as a manager.

This is the earliest the Dodgers have clinched both in terms of games remaining and date since they moved to Los Angeles. The division clinching streak is the longest in MLB history. Despite all of this, the Dodgers haven't won a world series since 1988. They made the world series in both 2017 and 2018, but lost in 7 and 5 games respectively. But, this team seems loaded enough to win the world series this time around.
