   Series tied 2-2

Max Scherzer came up big again, Ryan Zimmerman hit a 3 run homer, and the Washington Nationals came up big with a 6-1 win to force a win or go home 5th game. Scherzer said that ''We're a bunch of viejos. We're old guys, old guys can still do it." Every time Scherzer has pitched in the postseason, Washington has won. The NL Wild Card Game, NLDS game two in relief, and game 4 have been Scherzer's appearances this postseason.

Justinn Turner put the Dodgers ahead in the first inning with a solo homer to left field to make it 1-0. In the 3rd, Anthony Rendon hit a sac fly that scored Michael A Taylor to tie the game at one. In the 5th, Rendon hit an RBI single, and Zimmerman cranked his 3 run homer to make it 5-1. In the 6th, Rendon hit another sac fly to make it 6-1.

Scherzer pitched 7 dominating innings, giving up one run on 4 hits and 3 walks. He struck out 7 for the win. Daniel Hudson shut down the Dodgers in the 9th. Rendon said of Scherzer that ''He really gave it all he had." Scherzer himself said that ''I was just gassed. I was out, I was empty in the tank.'' Zimmerman's homer was another legendary stamp on his legendary Washington career. Scherzer did say he wouldn't pitch in game 5, saying that ''That pushed me all the way to the edge and then some, so, yeah, I can't imagine any scenario where I'm pitching.''

Julio Urias got the loss for the Dodgers, getting only two outs, and giving up 3 runs on 3 hits. Starter Rich Hill went 2 2/3 innings, giving up one run on two hits and 4 walks. Manager Dave Roberts said of Scherzer's performance that ''You can't say enough about his compete, he just sort of wills his way to getting outs.'' He also said of Zimmerman's homer that ''Zim put a really good swing on it."

Game 5 is on Wednesday night in Los Angeles, with the winner advancing to the NLCS. The Nationals start Stephen Strasburg on short rest, and the Dodgers go with phenom and game one winner Walker Buehler in the win or go home game.
