   NYY leads 1-0

DJ Lemahieu drove in 4 runs, Gleyber Torres had a big hit, and the Yankees beat the Minnesota Twins 10-4 Friday night in the ALDS game one. With the win, the Yankees extended their postseason win record against the Twins, as they have beat Minnesota every time they have faced off in the playoffs since 2000. The Twins have also lost 14 straight playoff games. Aaron Judge also made some good plays in right field for the Yankees.

The Twins got on the board in the first inning, when Jorge Polanco hit a solo homer to left field. In the 3rd, Nelson Cruz made it 2-0 with a solo homer into the right field seats. In the bottom half, Edwin Encarnacion hit an RBI double, and two runs scored on an error by CJ Cron to give New York a 3-2 lead. In the 5th, Polanco tied it with an RBI single. Torres then gave the Yanks the lead again on a two run double. In the 6th, Miguel Sano cut the deficit with a solo homer, and then Lemahieu and Brett Gardner hit solo homers to make it 7-4. Lemahieu then hit a 3 run double in the 8th to make it 10-4.

Zack Littell got the loss for the Twins, giving up two runs on one walk, and he didn't even get an out. Twins starter Jose Berrios went 4 innings and gave up 3 runs on 4 hits and 3 walks to get a no decision. Tyler Duffey and Kyle Gibson were responsible for the other 4 runs. Cron said that ''We're not out of it by any stretch of the imagination, but we need to show up tomorrow and hopefully turn those solo homers into maybe three-run homers and we'd be in this, it's going to be a tough series. We knew that coming in.''

Yankee starter James Paxton went 4 2/3 innings, giving up 3 runs on 5 hits and one walk. He also got a no decision. Tommy Kahnle got the win for New York, giving up one run on one hit and one walk. Aroldis Chapman worked the 9th to secure the win. That seems a little strange as to why they would put Chapman in for the 9th, as the Yankees were ahead by 6 and it wasn't a save situation.

Game two is on Saturday at 5:07 at Yankee stadium. Twins manager Rocco Baldelli called an audible and announced that undrafted rookie RHP Randy Dobnak will start game two for the Twins. Aaron Boone announced that Masahiro Tanaka will start for the Yankees.
