Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger has been named the 2019 National League MVP. Bellinger got 19 first place and 10 second place votes to win the award. Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich came in second and Washington Nationals 3B Anthony Rendon finished 3rd in voting. Yelich was the MVP favorite before an injury ended his season in September.

Bellinger is the 6th Dodgers MVP since they moved to California in the 1940's, and the first since Clayton Kershaw in 2014. Bellinger hit .305 with 47 homers and 115 RBI in a breakout season. The Dodgers ultimately fell short in the NLDS, losing to the eventual world champion Nationals in 5 games. He also won a gold glove and silver slugger award last week. He is the 4th player ever to win MVP, gold glove, and silver slugger before turning 25.

Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout has been named the 2019 American League MVP. Trout beat out Houston Astros 3B Alex Bregman and Oakland Athletics SS Marcus Semien to win his 3rd career MVP. Trout finished with 17 first place votes compared to Bregman's 13 to take home the award. Trout is the 11th player in history to win 3 MVP's, the others coming in 2014 and 2016. Trout won MVP despite his season ending prematurely due to right foot surgery. Trout had arguably his best season ever in 2019, hitting .291 with 45 homers and 104 RBI, and led the league with a 1.083 OPS on the season.
