The Seattle Mariners have signed 1B prospect Evan White to a 6 year, $24 million deal, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan. White is a top prospect in Seattle's system who has only 4 games at the Triple A level in his career, according to Passan. He was selected with the 17th pick in the 2017 draft. White is the 4th ranked prospect in the Mariners' system and the second best first base prospect in the MLB. White spent all of 2019 at Double A Arkansas, where he hit .293 with 18 homers and two stolen bases in 92 games.

This is one of the longest contracts given to a player who doesn't have any MLB service time. Last season, the Chicago White Sox signed Eloy Jimenez to a 6 year, $43 million deal before he reached the majors, and the Philadelphia Phillies signed Scott Kingery to a 6 year, $24 million deal in 2017.
