Minnesota Twins RHP Jake Odorizzi has accepted his $17.8 million qualifying offer from the Twins, according to MLB.com's Mark Feinsand. By accepting the offer this year, Odorizzi is now ineligible to receive another qualifying offer. He'll avoid competing in a starter heavy free agency market this winter, headlined by Gerrit Cole, Stephen Strasburg, and Madison Bumgarner. Odorizzi had a good year with the Twins, finishing with a 15-7 record with a 3.51 ERA. He struck out 178 hitters, a career best. His 15 wins were also a career best. He was a big part of the Twins success this season, as the Twins won the AL central for the first time since 2010.

Chicago White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu has accepted his $17.8 million qualifying offer from the White Sox, according to the team. Abreu and Odorizzi were the only two players out of 10 to accept their qualifying offers. Despite this, Abreu and the White Sox are working towards a multi year deal. Abreu showed he can still hit, hitting .284 with 33 homers on the season at age 32. Abreu also led the AL with 123 RBI.  Abreu struggled with breaking pitches in 2019, and doesn't walk much, so his market could decline if and when he hits free agency.
