Minnesota Twins
One thing the Twins can address this offseason is the starting pitching. Jake Odorizzi accepted the qualifying offer, but Michael Pineda, Martin Perez, and Klye Gibson are still free agents. They could take a run at re-signing of them, but they could also go after some second tier starters such as Zack Wheeler or Madison Bumgarner. Sergio Romo is a free agent as well, so they could add a reliever or two this winter as well. Don't be surprised if they bring back Romo, as both sides seem interested in a reunion. The Twins do have some money to throw around, so it's a possibility they get some pitching depth. They may also need to sign a middle infielder, as Jonathan Schoop is a free agent.

Cleveland Indians
The Indians just barely missed the playoffs in 2019, so they should be looking to add this winter. However, there are rumors swirling about whether or not they will trade star SS Francisco Lindor, because chances of a contract extension seem slim. Lindor has two years left on his deal, so they could keep him and hope that Corey Kluber and Carlos Carrasco stay healthy to help make a push for the central division championship. However, they do have some holes, particularly in the outfield, that could hinder their chances of doing so. It did this season.

Chicago White Sox
The White Sox are close to competing. They have some good pieces from within. What they need is a big free agent to put them in the competing position. Last year, they were connected to Bryce Harper and Manny Machado, but fell short of both. Will they be aggressive in free agency this time around? Lots of names have already been linked to them, such as Nicholas Castellanos and Marcell Ozuna. The White Sox have plenty of financial flexibility to make it happen, so they need to do it. Positions they should invest in are corner outfield, some DH depth, and the bullpen, which left much to be desired last season. It's time for Chicago to emerge, and they need to show it this winter.

Kansas City Royals
The wonder in Kansas City is if they will do anything this winter. The only assets they can trade are Whit Merrifield, Ian Kennedy, and Jorge Soler, though they'll want to keep Merrifield and Soler through the rebuild. Kennedy could be dealt if they like the return. Since they're rebuilding, they won't sign any big names, but they could trade someone to get some more prospects, since there aren't lots of reinforcements coming in the system. Top pick Bobby Witt Jr will need a few more years at least, so it'll be another couple seasons of awful in KC.

Detroit Tigers
The Tigers are in full scale rebuild mode, earning the first overall pick in the 2020 draft, so they won't sign anyone this offsseason. The question in Detroit will be how effectively this mess can be cleaned up. The farm system is bare outside of Casey Mize, so they won't have reinforcements from within for quite some time. They do have some names to trade, namely Matthew Boyd, so they could trade some of their assets for some more good prospects to add more to the farm system. That's all there is to look forward to in Detroit these days.
