We'll now look at the 10 best free agent position players on the market

Anthony Rendon, 3B
Rendon was already the main cog of the Washington Nationals offense in 2019, and the spectacular postseason he had only increased his stock further. He is the total package. He is a gold glove third baseman without an official gold glove, and he can hit for power and contact. He is attached to draft pick compensation as the Nats extended a qualifying offer, but that shouldn't be a factor because of his incredible skill.

Yasmani Grandal, C
Grandal unsurprisingly declined his option with the Brewers and becomes a free agent after a terrific year. He has a draft pick attached to him due to the qualifying offer, but it shouldn't cripple his market this winter. He is arguably the best all around catcher in baseball, and will look for a hefty payday.

Josh Donaldson, 3B
He was playing on a prove it deal after a rash of injuries, and boy oh boy did he prove it. He was one of Atlanta's best hitters, and he showed he still had defensive talent as well. It seems likely Donaldson will return to Atlanta, but he'll have teams lining up to sign him. He does have draft pick compensation attached, but it shouldn't hurt him that much.

Nicholas Castellanos, OF
The Cubs traded for Castellanos at the trade deadline, and it paid off in spades. Castellanos got his game back with the change, becoming a great hitter and fielder. Castellanos is also a doubles machine, and he'll get a hefty payday this winter, whether it's in Chicago or somewhere else.

Marcell Ozuna, OF
It seems clear that Ozuna wants to stay with St.Louis, and due to his down year, might not receive a large payday or a large market. He does have lots of power, but he didn't play good defense at all, and that could be what teams view him as, a defensive liability. He's attached to draft pick compensation, and it's been reported he is discussing a contract with the Cardinals.

Didi Gregorius, SS
The Yankees didn't offer Gregorius a qualifying offer, so his days in New York could very well be over. He surged as a member of the Yanks, and will have a good market for his services. He was sidelined a lot this season due to injury, but when he is healthy, he's a top tier shortstop. He's a good hitter and fielder, and will get a multi year deal this winter.

Edwin Encarnacion, 1B/DH
The Yankees declined Encarnacion's option, so he is a free agent, and he probably won't be in a Yankee uniform in 2020. He has incredible hitting value, but not good defense, so the number of NL teams looking for a first baseman won't be looking at him. He'll probably remain in the AL so he can DH, and won't receive a long term deal because he's 37. He's still a serviceable one or two year rental.

Mike Moustakas, 3B/2B
Moustakas started playing second base this season, so he can play multiple infield positions for teams looking for some versatility. He is also a great hitter who turned in a career year in Milwaukee, and is in line for a 3 to 5 year deal with quite the payday.

Yasiel Puig, OF
Puig had a nice half season in Cleveland, and offers some nice upside. He's got a good arm from right field, and good power at the plate. Teams looking to sign him have to consider the antics Puig brings, but he's a good fit for a team with a hole in the outfield.

Jose Abreu, 1B/DH
Abreu burst onto the scene 5 years ago, but has since tapered off. He still offers incredible power, but is merely serviceable at first base. He can also be used as a DH. He has expressed interest in remaining with the White Sox, so his market will probably be small. He does have a qualifying offer on the table, and he may well take it.
