There is a $5.5 million team option for 2021 with a $1 million buyout. Smoak spent his last 5 seasons in a Toronto Blue Jays uniform, hitting .208 with 22 homers in 121 games in 2019.    The Milwaukee Brewers have signed IF Eric Sogard to a one year, $4.5 million deal, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. There is a club option for 2021 with an unknown financial value. Sogard can earn an additional $500,000 in performance bonuses. Sogard had a comeback year in 2019, hitting .290 with 13 homers and 40 RBI in 2019, split in between the Toronto Blue Jays and Tampa Bay Rays. Sogard spent parts of 2017 and 2018 with Milwaukee, playing in 149 games in that span. Sogard can play every infield position except first base, and he made 7 appearances in the outfield in his time with the Blue Jays.

The Milwaukee Brewers have signed corner infielder Ryon Healy to a one year deal, the team announced. Financial terms of the deal are not known. Healy became a free agent after being outrighted off the 49 man roster from the Seattle Mariners, and declining a minor league assignment. Healy hit .236 with 31 homers while playing first and third base for the Mariners the last two seasons. Healy will likely compete with Sogard for the starting 3rd base job after Mike Moustakas and Travis Shaw both became free agents, with Moustakas heading to the Cincinnati Reds.
