The Texas Rangers have signed RHP Jordan Lyles to a two year, $16 million contract, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan. He pitched for both the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Milwaukee Brewers last season, going 12-8 with a 4.15 ERA in 28 starts. He went 7-1 with a 2.45 ERA over 11 starts with the Brewers.

Lyles is expected to compete for the starting rotation position, which he is slated to be in if the Rangers don't sign another pitcher. Lyles could come out of the bullpen if he doesn't make the rotation, as he has been a reliever in his career. He had a comeback 2019, as his previous 4 seasons averaged a 10-19 record with a 5.64 ERA.
