Whenever baseball returns in 2020, Colorado Rockies OF Charlie Blackmon believes the players can make the right decisions when it comes to protecting themselves from COVID-19. Blackmon went on MLB Network radio and said that players can be trusted to protect themselves in the proper way, basically saying that MLB is being too restrictive with their safety guidelines in their proposal. He also trusts that MLB will make the right decision when it comes to bringing baseball back into the public fold.

Blackmon said that "I think we're forgetting that people can keep themselves safe, I just don't want to prolong this summer without baseball because we're arguing over details about the health and safety. You can't put people in a bubble, but at the same time, I think I can trust our guys. ... I think we can be trusted not to go to the mall and lick other people's faces."

MLB and the MLBPA are having ongoing discussions about restarting the 2020 season, after everything was put on hold on March 12. The MLB and MLBPA have been at a public standoff over financial terms for the season, and have been discussing player safety more lately, as MLB gave the players association a 67 page player safety proposal over the weekend.
