Up next in the world series teams of the 2010's series is the 2013 Boston Red Sox.

The Red Sox stunned the baseball world in 2013. They finished dead last in the AL East in 2012 at 69-93, and fired Bobby Valentine after that season. They brought back an old face in John Farrell to lead the team, and after a salary dump with the Dodgers in 2012, the Red Sox infused the team with veteran faces heading into 2013. After the Boston Marathon bombings in April, the city rallied around the Red Sox, and the Red Sox rallied around Boston, as they set the table in baseball with a 97-65 record to clinch home field advantage throughout the postseason.

Their journey started in the ALDS where they played the division rival Tampa Bay Rays. Game one was no contest, as Jon Lester dominated and the hitters awoke with fury as the Red Sox routed the Rays 12-2. Game two was closer, but the Red Sox won that game as well by a score of 7-4. The Rays, with their backs against the wall, managed to stay alive with a walkoff win in game 3 by a score of 5-4. In game 4, the Red Sox did what they had to do and won by a 3-1 score to advance to the ALCS.

The ALCS was tougher for the Red Sox, as they were matched up against last year's AL champions in the Detroit Tigers. Game one was a pitchers battle, but one run was all the Tigers needed, winning 1-0 and taking the series lead. In game two, the Red Sox were down 5-0 entering the 8th inning, and with the score at 5-1, David Ortiz launched a grand slam into the Red Sox bullpen, tying the game at 5. In the 9th, the Red Sox walked it off with a 5-4 win to tie the series. The series shifted to Detroit, and game 3 was another pitchers battle, but one run was all Boston needed, winning 1-0 to take the series lead. The Tigers bounced back and tied the series in game 4, winning 7-4. Game 5 was a close game, but the Red Sox edged out the Tigers 5-4 to put them one win from the World Series. In the pivotal game 6, Shane Victorino's grand slam put the Red Sox over the top, winning 5-2 and the series, clinching the AL Pennant.

In the World Series, the Red Sox had a tough task, going against the 2011 World Champions, the St.Louis Cardinals. The Red Sox dominated game 1, routing the Cardinals by an 8-1 score. Game 2 was closer, but the Cardinals were able to tie the series with a 4-2 win. In game 3, the Cardinals got lucky and got the walkoff run on a controversial interference call on Will Middlebrooks to give them a 2-1 series lead. In game 4, Jonny Gomes' late 3 run homer propelled the Red Sox to a 4-2 win to tie the series at 2. In game 5, the Red Sox won by a 3-1 score to put them one win away from a world series title. Game 6 wasn't a contest, as the Red Sox won 6-1 to clinch their 3rd title in the last 10 years.

People wrote off the 2013 Red Sox after their disaster of a season in 2012. But after a tragedy that rocked the nation and the city of Boston, the Red Sox rallied around the city, and put together a run for the ages, going from worst in the division to the best team in baseball in one year.
