Philadelphia Phillies RHP Seranthony Dominguez is expected to undergo Tommy John surgery, according to Matt Gelb of The Athletic. After consulting with doctors back in March, it was recommended that he undergo the surgery, but due to COVID-19 putting everything on hold, Dominguez wasn't able to until now. He is expected to have the surgery rather soon.

Dominguez hasn't pitched in a regular season game since June 5 of 2019 due to an injured UCL. His first choice was rest and rehabilitation, and it worked, as he threw in spring training. But then it came up again, and surgery was recommended. He was able to rejoin the Phillies after being stranded in the Dominican Republic since March due to COVID-19 and is expected to have the surgery in Florida.

Dominguez had a breakout 2018 season, throwing 58 innings with a 2.95 ERA and a 2-5 record in his rookie season. 2019 was more of the same, with Dominguez authoring a 3-0 record with a 4.01 ERA in 27 appearances, throwing 24 2/3 innings with 29 strikeouts. Dominguez also has 16 saves to his name.
