What a moment for Daniel Bard. In his first major league game since 2013, Bard got the win, got out of some jams, and the Colorado Rockies held off the Texas Rangers for a 3-2 win, Bard's first win since 2012, and first appearance since 2013. Bard's last appearance was with the Boston Red Sox in April of 2013.

The Rockies started the scoring in the 4th inning when new Rockie Matt Kemp hit an RBI single to right field which scored Nolan Arenado to make it 1-0. They quickly got another when Charlie Blackmon scored on a fielders choice from Ryan McMahon to make it 2-0. The Rangers got a run back in the 5th when Shin Soo Choo hit an RBI single to right field. In the 7th, the Rockies upped their lead with a David Dahl RBI single to left, making it 3-1. In the 9th, Elvis Andrus scored on a Joey Gallo single to make it 3-2, but that was all for the Rangers, as the Rockies were able to hold them off.

Bard got the win for the Rockies, pitching 1 1/3 innings, striking out one hitter and giving up two hits, allowing no runs. Starter Jon Gray threw 4 2/3 innings, giving up one run on 3 hits and 3 walks, striking out 3 hitters. Bard had 3 words after getting the win: "That was fun." Wade Davis picked up the save for the Rockies, throwing a one run 9th inning.

Mike Minor took the loss for the Rangers, pitching 5 innings, giving up two runs on 3 hits and one walk, striking out 6 hitters. Luke Farrell, Nick Goody, Ian Gibaut, and Edinson Volquez also pitched for the Rangers. Choo got robbed of a potential homer in the first thanks to a great catch by Rockies outfielder Garrett Hampson.

The Series concludes later today, with Two Time Cy Young winner Corey Kluber making his Rangers debut. Kyle Freeland gets the start for the Rockies.
