Rafael Devers had another big night. Devers drove in 3 runs, Bobby Dalbec homered in his 5th consecutive game, and the Boston Red Sox beat the AL East leading Tampa Bay Rays 4-3 Thursday night. Dalbec's homer streak is the longest ever by a Red Sox rookie.

The Red Sox got the scoring started in the 3rd inning, when Devers hit a two run homer that barely stayed fair in right field to make it 2-0 Red Sox. The Rays were able to tie the game at two in the 4th inning on back to back solo homers from Hunter Renfroe and Brandon Lowe. In the 5th inning, Dalbec gave the Red Sox the lead with a solo homer to right field. The Rays were able to tie it in the bottom of the 5th on an Austin Meadows double. It stayed tied until the 7th, when Devers hit an RBI single to right to make it 4-3, which held for the rest of the game.

Dalbec has played in 10 games since being called up on August 30, and has 6 homers to his record, including 5 straight games with a homer. That has left Red Sox manager Ron Roenicke impressed, saying after the game that ''It's pretty cool seeing Bobby coming up his first year and doing this, it's pretty amazing, really.''

Ryan Weber got the win for the Red Sox, pitching 2 1/3 innings in relief, recording his first win of the season. Weber allowed one run on two hits and one walk, striking out 4 hitters. Mike Kickham got the start for the Red Sox, his first in 7 years. Kickham threw 4 innings, allowing two runs on 3 hits and one walk, striking out 8 hitters. Matt Barnes worked the 9th inning, recording his 5th save of the season. Jeffrey Springs and Ryan Brasier also made relief appearances for the Red Sox.

The Rays have lost 3 straight games, but their confidence isn't dipping down. Lowe, who hit a game tying solo homer in the 4th inning, said that ''I still think we're in a good position, I think we've proven we're not going to keep losing.'' In fact, the Rays are still in good position, with a 3 1/2 game lead over the second place Toronto Blue Jays in the AL East with a little over two weeks to play.

Pete Fairbanks got the loss for the Rays, giving up the winning single to Devers in the 7th inning. Fairbanks' record fell to 4-2 as a result. Josh Fleming started for the Rays, getting the no decision. Fleming threw 4 1/3 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits and two walks, striking out 5 hitters. Ryan Thompson, Ryan Sherriff, John Curtiss, and Aaron Loup also pitched for the Rays.

The series continues on Friday night, where the Red Sox will look to keep the winning ways going when Andrew Triggs takes the mound. The Rays will try and snap their 3 game losing streak when Blake Snell takes the mound.
