LAD leads series 1-0
On a night where Baseball's best lineup was largely quiet, they still found a way to break through. Walker Buehler had a strong outing, Corey Seager homered, and the Los Angeles Dodgers topped the Milwaukee Brewers 4-2 to take the series lead in the wild card round. The Dodgers also displayed patience, taking walks when necessary in order to get baserunners, which helped the offensive effort.

The scoring started in the first inning, when Will Smith and AJ Pollock both drew bases loaded walks, pushing two runs across and giving the Dodgers a 2-0 lead early. In the second inning, Mookie Betts hit an RBI double to make it a 3-0 lead. In the 4th, Orlando Arcia got the Brewers on the board with a two run homer, shrinking the lead to 3-2. In the 7th, Seager put the game away with a solo homer, making it 4-2 Dodgers.

The Dodgers drew 4 walks in the first inning against Brewers starter Brent Suter, which led to some early runs for the Dodgers. Seager addressed that after the game, saying that "A walk is just as good as a hit sometimes, which we showed in the first inning, you don't always have to have the big hit to score runs."

Julio Urias got the win for the Dodgers, pitching 3 scoreless innings of relief. Buehler started for the Dodgers, lasting 4 innings. Buehler gave up two runs on 3 hits and two walks, striking out 8 hitters in a no decision. Blake Treinen worked a scoreless 8th for the Dodgers, and Kenley Jansen shut it down in the 9th for the save.

Suter lasted just 1 2/3 innings for the Brewers, getting the loss. Suter allowed 3 runs on 3 hits and 5 walks, not recording a strikeout. Suter said of his early command issues that "Nerves going on, excited to be out there, then Mookie gets that leadoff double. I missed some corners, then all of a sudden snowball effect, I felt like I let the team down big-time."

The series continues Thursday night, where Brandon Woodruff gets the start for the Brewers, with their season in the balance. The Dodgers look to put away the Brewers with Clayton Kershaw taking the mound.
