Rivalries to watch
Astros-Athletics
This rivalry began in the 2019 offseason after the Astros were found guilty of illegal sign stealing in the 2017 season, the year they hoisted the World Series trophy. It reached it's breaking point when A's outfielder Ramon Laureano charged the Astros bench in a game this year, resulting in heavy fines and suspensions on both sides.

Yankees-Rays
This rivalry has more history to it than Oakland and Houston, but it had been dormant for a while until this season. They got it started again one night at Yankee Stadium, when Aroldis Chapman threw a fastball over 100 mph over the head of Rays infielder Mike Brosseau, nearly hitting him. That caused the benches to clear, and the next day Brosseau had a multi homer game at the plate. Both sides have acknowledged they don't like each other, so expect a tense environment between these two all postseason.
