The Washington Nationals have re-signed IF Josh Harrison to a one year, $1 million deal, according to an announcement by the Nats. Harrison also has incentives in his contract that can earn him an extra $250,000, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. Harrison spent the 2020 regular season with the Nats after being released by the Philadelphia Phillies in early July, during "summer camp".

Harrison played 33 games with the Nationals this season, hitting .278 with 3 home runs and 14 RBI, collecting 22 hits, and adding one stolen base. Harrison has a 10 year major league career, hitting .273 with 56 homers and 291 RBI, with 80 stolen bases across 911 games played. Harrison has spent his career with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Detroit Tigers, and the Nationals.

Nationals manager Dave Martinez had an end of season interview last month, and he touched on Harrison during that interview. Martinez said of Harrison that "He’s fun to be around, he understands the game. He’s a true constant every single day. You never have to tell him to be ready. He’s always ready, no matter what. For me, that’s what you want on this team. He fits in."

In his end of season interview, Harrison said that "You never know where you’re going to end up in this game, I'm blessed. I was fortunate enough to find a situation like this when it didn’t work out with Philly. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better place, a better group of guys."
