Jose Berrios and Corbin Burnes both put on quite a show Saturday afternoon for their respective teams. They were both carrying no hitters 6 innings into the game, that's how dominating it was. Unfortunately, the Twins got the last laugh. Berrios threw 6 no hit innings, Byron Buxton homered, and the Twins shut out the Milwaukee Brewers with a 2-0 win.

Buxton started the scoring in the 7th inning with a long solo homer off Burnes, over 450 feet to center field, making it 1-0 Twins. In the 8th inning, the lead became 2-0 on an RBI single from Luis Arraez that scored Andrelton Simmons. The Twins did not relinquish that lead.

Twins manager Rocco Baldelli said of the pitchers duel that "It’s a fantastic baseball game for anyone who loves the game. For anyone that doesn’t mind showing up and watching two elite starters go at it at the top of their games. I don’t know if I’ve seen too many games at the Major League level, as a participant of any kind or just a spectator on television, I haven’t seen too many games pitched like that through six innings. That was really fun to watch, and I’m just glad we were able to come through with a couple of runs and get the job done. That’s an old-time pitchers' duel right there."

Berrios threw 6 no hit innings for the Twins, getting the win while recording 12 strikeouts. He also didn't walk any hitters either. Alex Colome worked the 9th for the Twins, getting a clean inning and recording the save. Taylor Rogers worked a clean 7th for the Twins, and Tyler Duffey pitched the 8th.

Berrios didn't even know he had a no hitter during the game, saying that "I didn't know we had no-hitters. When Rocco came to me and took me out of the ballgame, he just gave me a hug. He didn't say anything and didn't let me say anything back to him. When I came off the field, I saw that we had a no-hitter going."

Burnes got the loss for the Brewers despite a fantastic outing, working 6 1/3 innings. Burnes allowed just one hit while striking out 11 hitters. Unfortunately for Burnes, the one hit was a home run. Brent Suter came on and pitched 1 2/3 innings in relief of Burnes, and JP Feyereisen pitched the 9th for the Brewers.

Burnes said of his duel with Berrios that "It’s always awesome to have a duel like that. Berrios has been in the league for quite a while and has been a good young pitcher. If you want to beat the best, that’s what you have to do."

The Twins and Brewers series finale is in progress now, with Michael Pineda starting for Minnesota, and Adrian Houser going for Milwaukee.
