Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr was robbed of a walkoff hit on Wednesday against the San Diego Padres. So, on Thursday he made up for it. Willy Adames homered, Bradley Jr hit the walkoff hit, and the Brewers topped the Padres with a 6-5 extra innings win Thursday afternoon.

Brewers manager Craig Counsell said of Bradley's walkoff hit that "This could have been Wednesday night for him, really. The walk off hit probably should have been two nights in a row except for an incredible defensive play. This is a guy that’s done a lot of great things in his career. Played in some huge games, been really successful in enormous games, and he’s gotten off to a slow start. There’s no other way to slice it, it’s been frustrating for him for sure. But look, moments of success and being the hero on a day like this, it lets you sleep easier and it puts a smile on your face."

The Brewers took a 2-0 lead in the 5th inning, on an RBI single by Adames and a single plus error from Avisail Garcia that scored Lorenzo Cain. In the 7th, Adames hit a 3 run homer to give Milwaukee a 5-3 lead. After the Padres tied it at 5-5, Bradley Jr hit an RBI single to right field in the 10th, scoring Omar Narvaez and giving the Brewers the win.

Adames said of his first homer in a Brewers uniform that "It was the best feeling. Especially in that situation. I was just trying to take a good at-bat and bring the guy in, and as soon as I hit the ball, it was a big feeling. It was something special for me, especially to get that win after those good at-bats that we all took. To do it in front of all the fans, this is a great fan base and I'm excited to play here, hopefully for a lot of years."

Brent Suter got the victory for Milwaukee, throwing a shutout 10th inning to improve to 4-3 on the season. Adrian Houser threw 5 innings in his start, allowing just one hit and one walk while striking out 4 hitters. Trevor Richards threw two relief innings after Houser left, followed by Devin Williams, Josh Hader, and Suter.

Miguel Diaz got the loss for the Padres, throwing 1 2/3 innings, allowing the walkoff to Bradley Jr. Ryan Weathers allowed one hit and two walks, yielding no runs and striking out 5 hitters in 4 innings. Nabil Crismatt, Pierce Johnson, Craig Stammen, and Emilio Pagan also pitched for the Padres.

Weathers had some good things to say about his outing, saying "As the season progresses, I’ve found out a lot more about my arm, my body, what I need to do in between each outing and make sure I’m at my best every fifth or sixth day, whatever it is. As of right now, today was some of the best I’ve ever felt."

The Brewers start a series with the Washington Nationals tonight, with Brett Anderson starting for the Brewers. The Padres face the Houston Astros, where Dinelson Lamet is expected to start.
