The key for a San Francisco Giants win on Monday night was the home run. That's how they got the win. Mike Yastrzemski homered, Wilmer Flores and Mauricio Dubon homered, and the Giants took down the Cincinnati Reds with a 6-3 win Monday night.

Logan Webb got the win in his start for the Giants, throwing 6 innings, allowing no runs on 6 hits and one walk, recording 4 strikeouts in his win. Jarlin Garcia threw the 7th inning in relief of Webb, then Matt Wisler and Caleb Baragar combined to throw the 8th inning, and Tyler Rogers came on for the 9th, getting his 5th save of the season.

Webb was very happy with his start after the game, saying that "When I've good tempo and I'm throwing my sinker for strikes, I think that's a good recipe for success." Webb allowed the Reds to load the bases in the second inning, but they didn't score. After the second, no runner got past second base while Webb was on the mound.

Buster Posey scored on a fielders choice and an error in the first inning, making it 1-0 Giants. In the 4th inning, Flores made it a 3-0 lead on a two run homer. In the 5th, Yastrzemski hit a solo homer, and Dubon hit a solo homer in the 6th inning. The Giants would go on to get one more run in the 8th.

For the Reds, their only runs came on a Jesse Winker RBI single in the 7th, and, in the 8th, Tyler Naquin and Eugenio Suarez each hit solo homers, which went to center and left field, respectively. That made the score 6-3, which held for the rest of the game.

Giants manager Gabe Kapler said of Yastrzemski's recent success that "He’s been on time. He's been in a good position to get his A-swing off for several games straight now. Obviously, he smoked that ball to right-center field. It was one of those no-doubters that when it comes off Yaz’s bat, it’s loud and it’s fast."

The Reds had to shuffle the lineup creatively in this loss to the Giants. They moved center fielder and second baseman Nick Senzel over to 3rd, where he made a couple of barehanded plays, and gunned down Buster Posey with an impressive catch and throw in the 7th inning, in Senzel's second career start at 3rd base.

Reds manager David Bell said of Senzel's versatility that "What he’s doing, I can’t think of another player that’s doing what he’s doing right now as far as how he’s playing center field, how he’s playing second base, the plays he’s making at third base, and he looks natural at all three. It’s really impressive. He should feel great about that. It’s definitely helping our team, too, and opening up a lot of options for us."

The Giants and Reds face off again tonight, with Anthony DeSclafani starting for San Francisco, and Luis Castillo starting for Cincinnati.
