One top prospect from each NL central team that is most affected by the lockout

With MLB currently locking out it's players, anyone on a team's 40 man roster is not allowed to play games or use team facilities until a new CBA is agreed to or the lockout is lifted, whichever comes first. One group of players this affects in particular is team's top prospects that are on 40 man rosters but not in the major leagues. Even though the minor league season is starting on time, these players still cannot play, as they are on a 40 man roster. So, let's look at one top prospect from each team who is most affected by this rule, continuing on with the NL Central. Order will be based off standings from 2021.

Milwaukee Brewers: Jheremy Vargas, SS/3B/2B
Vargas, who is merely an 18 year old, was just signed by the Brewers before the 2020 season was supposed to begin, so he didn't get to play until 2021. With only one season under his belt and no experience in full season affiliated ball, it's unfortunate that Vargas can't get out there and continue his development, because he is on the 40 man roster.

St. Louis Cardinals: Ivan Herrera, C
The team's 7th ranked prospect and likely successor when Yadier Molina retires, Herrera is likely to start his season at Triple A, whenever it does begin. Herrera has good power thanks to his swing, and his approach at the plate is that of a major leaguer. His arm strength and blocking have significantly improved behind the plate, so the Cardinals would love to see this kid play, when he's able to.

Cincinnati Reds: Hunter Greene
Greene hasn't become the Reds top prospect for no reason. He's recovered from his Tommy John surgery, and his fastball is back to the high 90's and low 100's. His slider is a great compliment to his heater and his out pitch, and his changeup has progressively gotten better each year in the minors. Greene will be a force when he can get on the field.

Chicago Cubs: Miguel Amaya, C
Amaya, the team's 4th ranked prospect, has long been a good defensive catcher. His pitch receiving, framing, and blocking have all made big strides in recent years, and has thrown out 30-35 percent of base stealers thanks to improved arm strength. If he can drive the ball better hitting wise, he'll be a true game changer behind the plate. Would've been nice if he had a full season to work with though.

Pittsburgh Pirates: Liover Peguero, SS
The second ranked shortstop prospect and 5th overall in the Pirates system, Peguero figures to start at either High A or Double A in 2022, whenever he can start. Peguero's bat speed and barrel made strides as his exit velocities jumped, and his power will only progress as he gets stronger. His speed is an asset as well, as he can steal bases and also have good range in the field. Peguero certainly is a player to watch this season
