Joctober is making his way back home. The San Francisco Giants and OF Joc Pederson have agreed to a one year, $6 million deal, according to The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal. The Giants have officially confirmed the deal.

Pederson, who is a native of Palo Alto, CA, is joining the Giants fresh off two straight world series titles, winning in 2020 with the Los Angeles Dodgers, and in 2021 with the Atlanta Braves. He brings strong postseason play and experience to the Giants, having made the playoffs in every season of his major league career.

Last season, split between the Braves and Chicago Cubs, Pederson finished the regular season with a .238 batting average, with a .422 slugging percentage and .732 OPS, hitting 18 home runs to go with 61 RBI's, adding in two stolen bases in 137 games played, split between 73 in Chicago and 64 in Atlanta.

Across Pederson's 8 major league seasons, he has regular season totals of a .232 batting average, .462 slugging percentage, and .794 OPS, driving 148 home runs with 364 RBI's, stealing 19 bases in 885 regular season games, with an all star selection in 2015. In the playoffs, he has 12 home runs and 29 RBI's, with a .814 OPS in 79 playoff games.

Pederson was in search of a full time opportunity when he left the Dodgers, and got one in Chicago, but he'll likely go back to a platoon role in San Francisco. In his career, he has been a better hitter against right handed pitching as opposed to left handers. He is likely to get additional playing time thanks to the universal DH.

In San Francisco, Pederson joins an outfield group that has Mike Yastrzemski, Austin Slater, Steven Duggar, Darin Ruf, and LaMonte Wade Jr in the mix. The Giants have also re-signed pitchers Anthony DeSclafani and Alex Wood this offseason, and brought in Alex Cobb.
