This win was a long time coming, and it finally happened. Josh Naylor drove in a run, Jose Ramirez brought in 3 runs, and the Cleveland Guardians defeated the Colorado Rockies with a 4-3 victory in 10 innings on Tuesday night in Denver.

With the win, the Guardians snapped an 8 game losing streak at Coors Field, winning for the first time since 2002. The Guardians have been on quite a roll lately, winning two straight games and 7 of their last 10, sitting in second place in the AL Central with a 30-27 record. This time, it was Ramirez who led the way with a 3 RBI game.

Guardians manager Terry Francona said of Ramirez that "There’s nothing you can’t say. I get a front-row seat, which is pretty awesome. This kid is such an intelligent baseball player. I know his skills are off the charts, but he is so intelligent. He brings it every day. He doesn’t take days off. He just does everything."

In the 3rd inning, Ramirez got the Guardians on the board, hitting a two run single to left field, making it a 2-0 Guardians lead. In the bottom half of the inning, CJ Cron hit an RBI triple, getting the Rockies on the board to make it a 2-1 game.

In the 6th inning, Naylor hit an RBI single, scoring Ramirez to put the Guardians ahead by a 3-1 score. In the 7th inning, the Cleveland lead was no more, thanks to a two run home run to right center field by Charlie Blackmon, tying the game 3-3. In the 10th, an RBI double by Ramirez put Cleveland ahead 4-3, making the difference in this one.

Getting the win for the Guardians was Bryan Shaw, who pitched a scoreless 9th inning in the game. Shane Bieber got the start, allowing 3 runs on 9 hits over 6 2/3 innings, getting a no decision. Eli Morgan pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings, and Emmanuel Clase got the save in the 10th.

Francona said of pulling Bieber after the Blackmon homer that "I thought he was so good. I probably managed with my heart a little bit and not my head. I was kicking myself. When we have Eli out there rested, I have to be a hitter too early than a hitter too late."

Getting the loss for the Rockies was Robert Stephenson, who got the loss in the 10th inning. Antonio Senzatela was the starter, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits over 6 innings pitched. After Senzatela departed, scoreless innings out of the bullpen came from Jhoulys Chacin, Alex Colome, and Daniel Bard, before Stephenson came in.

Rockies first baseman CJ Cron said of the lack of offense that "It’s something we’ve lacked a little bit, in the offseason, it was something we targeted. The power hasn’t been there for us, especially playing in this ballpark. We’re facing good pitchers night in and night out. It’s tough to string together a lot of hits."

Up next, the Guardians and Rockies continue their series on Wednesday night. The Guardians send Konnor Pilkington to the mound to start, while Austin Gomber starts for the Rockies.
