On this night, we saw exactly the potential that the Seattle Mariners have. Cal Raleigh had a 3 RBI night, Taylor Trammell drove in 4 runs, and the Mariners breezed past the Baltimore Orioles with a 10-0 shutout victory on Tuesday night in Baltimore.

After a series win against the Houston Astros over the weekend, the Mariners got right back to the winning side of things against the Orioles, winning their 3rd of 4 games and getting up to 21-28 on the season. Leading the way by driving in 7 of the 10 runs for the Mariners was the catcher Raleigh, and the outfielder Trammell.

Raleigh said after the game that "I think it's important for the bottom of the order to get going. You see the best teams and the teams that win, the bottom of their order is productive as well. We can't be automatic outs down there. I thought I did a good job tonight."

The Mariners got on the board early, with Julio Rodriguez driving in Ty France in the first inning with an RBI double, making it a 1-0 game early. In the second inning, the Mariners took a 4-0 lead thanks to an RBI double by Trammell, a sac fly from Raleigh, and an RBI single by Jesse Winker.

In the 3rd inning, a sac fly from Trammell made it 5-0 when Eugenio Suarez scored. Raleigh then made it a 7-0 lead with a two run single to left field, scoring Dylan Moore and Adam Frazier. Raleigh then scored on an RBI single from France to make it 8-0. In the 7th inning, Trammell drove in another run with an RBI single, and added an RBI double in the 9th to cap the 10-0 win.

Trammell said of his big game that "At the end of the year, I look at my stats to see, ‘Oh I missed that at-bat' or 'I gave this at-bat up.' I don't want to do that anymore. Every at-bat counts. Every pitch counts and we see it. These guys started off the game really hot. We all started the game off really hot and we took every pitch to heart. We didn't give up any at-bats."

Making his 5th career major league start and getting his first win was Seattle's George Kirby. In the win, Kirby allowed just 4 hits and one walk, striking out 8 hitters over 6 shutout innings of work. Matt Festa added a scoreless 7th inning, and Roenis Elias sealed the win with two shutout innings.

Bryan Baker got the start and got the loss as an opener, allowing 3 runs over 1 1/3 innings pitched. Recently called up Zac Lowther handled the bulk of the work, allowing 6 runs on 8 hits, pitching 5 1/3 innings. Marcos Diplan pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings, before infielder Chris Owings gave up one run while pitching the 9th inning.

Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said of the pitching that "The third inning, I didn't know what we were going to do. Because if Lowther wasn't going to last very long, I was going to throw a bunch of guys that I didn't want to throw in a game like that. That was big."

Up next, the Mariners and Orioles continue their series on Wednesday night. Robbie Ray gets the start for Seattle, while rookie Kyle Bradish goes for the Orioles.
