When the game came to it's most important juncture, it was time for a Miranda show. Gilberto Celestino drove in a run, Jose Miranda hit a walk off home run, and the Minnesota Twins defeated the Milwaukee Brewers with a 4-1 victory on Wednesday afternoon in Minneapolis.

The dramatic victory for the Twins goes down as their 5th walk off win of the season, and it's the second of the year for Miranda after beating the Baltimore Orioles at the start of the month. It was Miranda's 3rd hit of the game, and it helped the Twins to their 5th win in 10 games.

Minnesota manager Rocco Baldelli said of Miranda that "He's having a good time, and he should. When you hit a ball like that in front of a great crowd and you do it off, probably, one of the five most dominant pitchers in baseball, and I might be shortchanging Hader at this point, you can have some fun. He’s earned his fun right there."

The Twins got themselves on the board early in the game. With two runners on base, Celestino singled into right center field, scoring Ryan Jeffers to put the Twins ahead by a 1-0 score. In the 3rd inning, Jace Peterson got the Brewers on the board, hitting a solo home run to center field, tying the game at a 1-1 score.

After the Peterson homer, things were quiet. They were quiet all the way until the 9th inning. With two runners on base, Miranda ripped a 3 run home run to left field, putting the Twins over the top to make it a 4-1 victory.

Miranda said of how his at bat in the 9th went that "He threw me the first one, slider down, and I kind of knew he was going to come with the same pitch, but maybe for a strike. He threw it where I wanted. Executed the plan."

Getting the win for the Twins was Jhoan Duran, who pitched a scoreless top of the 9th inning to improve to 1-3 this season. Joe Ryan got the start, allowing one run on two hits and two walks over 5 1/3 innings. Caleb Thielbar and Griffin Jax each pitched 1 1/3 shutout innings.

Aaron Ashby got the start for the Brewers, allowing one run on 6 hits in 4 1/3 innings pitched. Trevor Gott pitched 1 2/3 innings after Ashby left, followed by shutout innings from Brad Boxberger and Devin Williams. Josh Hader got the loss after giving up the homer in the 9th inning.

Hader said of giving up the walk off homer that "You dwell on these little errors here and there and you just get yourself in a hole. So you just keep moving on. It’s 162 games for a reason. It’s a big deal that we lost today, but at the end of the day it’s just a little blip. It’s not really going to make or break anything."

Up next, the Twins welcome the Chicago White Sox to town on Thursday night, with Sonny Gray getting the start. The Brewers hit the road to face the San Francisco Giants on Thursday, with Corbin Burnes starting the series opener.
