Since finding himself in Denver, CJ Cron has proven to be one of the best bats in the lineup. Cron drove in a pair of runs, Elehuris Montero brought a run home, and the Colorado Rockies rallied to defeat the Atlanta Braves with a 3-2 victory on Tuesday night in Atlanta.

After closing out the weekend series against the New York Mets with a win, the Rockies won the opener of this series, picking up their second straight win and 5th in 10 games. They are still 18 games under .500 at 56-74, but any win is a good win. This game was also highlighted by the debut of Michael Toglia, who was raking in the minors prior to his promotion.

Toglia said of the callup that "I know how this business works. It’s not necessarily one good or bad game that will send you up or down. But I felt my process over the last six weeks or two months is what got me here."

When the first inning went scoreless, the Braves picked up the slack in the second. Dansby Swanson got it started, hitting a double into center field, scoring Vaughn Grissom to make it a 1-0 Braves lead. In the 3rd inning, Eddie Rosario did the same thing, doubling home Austin Riley to double the lead to a 2-0 score.

That was when the Rockies comeback started. In the 4th, Cron singled into left center field, bringing home Brendan Rodgers to cut the deficit to 2-1. Cron then came around to score when Montero doubled, tying the game 2-2. In the 5th inning, Randal Grichuk was able to score on a groundout from Cron, putting the Rockies ahead by a 3-2 score.

Getting the start for the Rockies was Jose Urena, who turned in a strong outing. Urena lasted 5 innings, allowing two runs on 6 hits while striking out 6 hitters to get the win. Justin Lawrence came on and threw two shutout innings, followed by one inning from Carlos Estevez and Daniel Bard, with Bard getting the save.

For the Braves, they had Max Fried on the mound. Fried got the loss, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits over 5 innings. Jay Jackson was first out of the bullpen with a shutout 6th, followed by scoreless innings from Tyler Matzek, Kirby Yates, and Dylan Lee, but the Braves offense couldn't come through.

Braves manager Brian Snitker said that "If we score some runs, then we're looking at Max going 'didn't have his great stuff, but he figured out a way to win it.' We couldn't get anything going offensively for him, and it's OK to throw five innings and get the win, too. But it just didn't happen. He'll regroup and get out there and be strong as ever on Sunday."

Up next, the Rockies and Braves continue their series on Wednesday night. The Rockies send Ryan Feltner to the mound to start, while the Braves counter with Kyle Wright.
