There's going to be double trouble in the San Francisco Giants bullpen. The Giants and LHP Taylor Rogers have agreed to a 3 year, $33 million deal, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. The deal has been confirmed by the Giants.

Rogers will join his twin brother Tyler Rogers, who has been a part of the Giants bullpen since 2019. Early in the 2022 season, Taylor and Tyler both pitched in the same game when the Giants faced the San Diego Padres, with Taylor coming in for the Padres and Tyler with the Giants. They can become the second set of twins to appear in the same game for the same team in MLB history, and the first since Johnny and Eddie O'Brien in 1956 with the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Additionally, Taylor and Tyler can become the 4th set of twins to be teammates in the majors. Jose and Ozzie Canseco were the most recent on the 1990 Oakland Athletics. Before that, 1953 along with 1955-58 and 1915 were the other seasons with twins as teammates.

Taylor spent 2022 with both the Padres and Milwaukee Brewers, being traded twice in the 2022 season. He ended the year with a 4.76 ERA, 3.31 FIP, and 1.18 WHIP, notching 31 saves over 66 relief appearances, throwing 64 1/3 innings.

Rogers has played for the Padres, Minnesota Twins, and Brewers in his career, spanning 7 seasons. In that time, he has a 1.16 WHIP, 3.06 FIP, and 3.42 ERA, throwing 379 innings while picking up 81 saves in 385 relief appearances. Rogers has appeared in 4 playoff games, allowing two runs in 3 1/3 innings pitched.

The first 6 seasons of Rogers's career were with the Twins, earning an All Star Game selection in 2021. For his career, he has done best against lefty hitters, holding them to a .196 batting average with a .260 on base percentage. Against righties, he has allowed a .261 batting average and .315 on base percentage.

Taylor will pair with Tyler as high leverage relievers for the Giants, with Taylor being able to share closing duties with Camilo Doval. Yunior Marte, Sean Hjelle, and Sam Long are among others vying for bullpen spots come Spring Training.
