Atlanta, Snit isn't going anywhere. The Atlanta Braves and manager Brian Snitker have agreed to a contract extension, according to an announcement by the Braves on Friday.

Snitker was already under contract for the next two seasons, but the extension adds 2025 to his contract. He will be 70 years old when his contract expires at the end of the 2025 season. Snitker became manager 6 weeks into the 2016 season, replacing Fredi Gonzalez behind the bench.

Ever since Snitker took over, the Braves started winning, and haven't stopped. He's led the team to 5 playoff berths in his first 6 seasons, including 5 straight division titles and the 2021 World Series title. He's the 6th longest tenured manager in baseball currently and has led the Braves to a .546 winning percentage since taking over.

In 2018, Snitker took home the NL Manager of the Year award after leading the Braves to a surprising Division Title before getting bounced in the NLDS. Since 2019, he has also finished in the top 4 of the voting for Manager of the Year every year, including finishing in 3rd this year.

Prior to taking over the Braves, Snitker had spent over 30 years in the Braves minor league system, coaching in a variety of player development roles, in addition to manager. He played a hand in the development of highly touted prospects such as Ronald Acuna Jr, Ozzie Albies, Austin Riley, and Max Fried.
