Rounding out the outfield depth is a quality everyday player. The Seattle Mariners and OF AJ Pollock have agreed to a one year, $7 million deal, according to Jeff Passan of ESPN. The deal has been confirmed by the Mariners.

The Mariners will be Pollock's 3rd team in 3 years, having played for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2021 and the Chicago White Sox in 2022. He is a former All Star who still offers value in the field and with the bat, but is coming off a down year hitting wise.

Following a trade to Chicago, 2022 was Pollock's only year with the White Sox. He ended the season with a .245 batting average, .389 slugging percentage, and .681 OPS, hitting 14 home runs with 56 RBI's in 138 games played for the White Sox.

With the Mariners, Pollock will likely slot into left field, also giving manager Scott Servais a strong bat against left handed pitching. Pollock owns a career .868 OPS against lefties, bumped up by a .935 OPS against lefties in 2022. He was chosen in the first round of the 2009 MLB Draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Pollock has played for the D-Backs, Dodgers, and White Sox in his 11 years in the major leagues. He has authored a .276 batting average, .332 on base percentage, and .469 slugging percentage, adding 470 RBI's and 140 home runs in 1,033 games played. Pollock has 14 RBI's, 3 home runs, and a .223 batting average in 34 career playoff games.

Alongside Pollock in the Seattle outfield is phenom Julio Rodriguez in center field and Teoscar Hernandez in right field. Dylan Moore, Sam Haggerty, and Cooper Hummel represent depth options alongside Taylor Trammell and Jarred Kelenic.

The Mariners haven't had the busiest offseason after snapping a 21 year long playoff drought in 2022. Pollock joins Hernandez and Kolten Wong as the headlining additions of the offseason.
