This offense quite routinely slugs into the win column. Matt Olson had two RBI's, Orlando Arcia drove in the winning run, and the Atlanta Braves defeated the Seattle Mariners with a 6-2 win on Friday night in Atlanta.

With the win, the Braves now have two wins in a row and 5 of their last 10 games, improving to 28-16 and still holding first place in the NL East. In addition to Olson and Arcia, Marcell Ozuna also had a big day at the plate with 3 RBI's.

Olson gave the Braves an early 1-0 lead in the first inning, hitting a double that scored Ronald Acuna Jr. That would do it for the scoring until the 7th inning. Seattle took a 2-1 lead in the top of the inning. Eugenio Suarez tied it 1-1 with an RBI single to left field, then Teoscar Hernandez hit an RBI single to right field.

In the bottom of the inning, Ozuna tied the game back up, making it 2-2 with an RBI single. Arcia then hit a single of his own, scoring Ozzie Albies to put the Braves ahead 3-2. In the 8th inning, Olson cranked a solo home run to extend the lead to 4-2. Ozuna then put the final stamp on the win with a two run single to make it a 6-2 game.

Arcia said of his game winning hit postgame that "I feel like you've got to be prepared for any situation. We play like a family and treat each other well and pick each other up when it's needed."

Getting the start for the Braves was Bryce Elder, who got a no decision with two runs on 7 hits and a walk in 6 innings pitched. Collin McHugh got the win with a scoreless inning, with Nick Anderson and Raisel Iglesias pitching after to seal the game for the Braves.

Atlanta manager Brian Snitker said of Elder that "I think he's just focused on the job. I don't think he gets into the bigger picture thing. He's very professional and efficient. I just kind of see him focused on winning the inning."

It was Bryce Miller who got the start for the Mariners, getting tagged for 3 runs on 4 hits and a walk in 6 1/3 innings of work. Trevor Gott got the next out of the 7th before Justin Topa came on and allowed 3 runs. Tayler Saucedo pitched a scoreless inning.

Mariners manager Scott Servais said of Miller's start that "We were a little short in the 'pen tonight and were trying to shorten that seventh inning as best we could. We weren't able to get through it, but I don't want to take anything away from his outing. He gave us absolutely everything he had."

Up next, the series continues on Saturday night. Jesse Chavez will start for the Braves in what appears to be a bullpen game, while Logan Gilbert goes for the Mariners.
