Teams are having a really hard time trying to stop the Dodgers. Freddie Freeman homered, Max Muncy drove in 3 runs, and the Los Angeles Dodgers shut out the Arizona Diamondbacks with a 7-0 victory on Wednesday night in Los Angeles.

The Dodgers shut out the D-Backs to win their 4th straight game and sweep the series, also winning 8 of their last 10 games. They've won 24 games in August, the most in team history since moving to Los Angeles. One more win ties them for the most in franchise history with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947 and 1953.

Los Angeles manager Dave Roberts said of the hot streak that "It's just good all around baseball. I think a lot of times teams talk about when you have the hitting, you’re not pitching, and vice versa. But I think right now we’ve had both every night."

After a scoreless two innings, it was Freeman who kicked off the scoring for the Dodgers. He hit a two run home run in the 3rd inning to right field, giving the Dodgers a 2-0 lead. Not too long after that, it was Jason Heyward's turn. Heyward added a two run home run of his own, padding the Dodgers lead to 4-0.

Come the 4th inning, the Dodgers found the scoreboard once again. This time it was Muncy, who hit a double to score Freeman and Austin Barnes to put the Dodgers in front by a 6-0 score. It stayed that way until the 6th inning. Muncy delivered again, hitting an RBI single that scored Chris Taylor to make it a 7-0 game.

Muncy said of his recent success that "All I can do is keep focusing on doing my routine every day and trying to stay in a good headspace and hope that this continues. It just started in Cleveland after the off-day. Things started clicking a little bit. Just kind of a different mindset out there."

Ryan Pepiot got the start for the Dodgers, pitching 5 shutout innings while allowing two hits and one walk and striking out 3 hitters. All the Dodgers needed after Pepiot left was Ryan Yarbrough, who threw 4 shutout innings to get the long relief save, his second save of the season.

Brandon Pfaadt started for the D-Backs, allowing 6 runs on 8 hits and two walks in 4 innings. Miguel Castro got the next two outs before Joe Mantiply allowed one run in 1 2/3 innings. Bryce Jarvis pitched a scoreless inning before Kyle Nelson got the final two outs in the 8th.

D-Backs manager Torey Lovullo said of being swept that "It's been a long couple of days. You score one run over 18 innings and really have limited opportunities to score runs. I mean, there were some chances, but not what we've been doing as of late. So offensively, we've got to figure this out."

The Dodgers get back in action on Thursday with a home series against the Atlanta Braves, with Lance Lynn getting the start. The D-Backs host the Baltimore Orioles at home on Friday night, with the series opening start going to Zach Davies.
