It's an October to remember for this D-Backs player specifically. D-Backs second baseman Ketel Marte extended his postseason hit streak to 18 games with his 8th inning single in game two of the World Series.

The 18 game hitting streak gives Marte the longest hitting streak in playoff history, passing Derek Jeter, Manny Ramirez, and Hank Bauer, who all had 17 game hit streaks in the playoffs. In 14 games this postseason, Marte has a .333 average with 11 RBI's and 9 extra base hits. This run has also come in the first 18 playoff games of his career.

Marte said of the record "I feel good. It's just another accomplishment for myself. I know what kind of person I am. I'm a person that believes in God. We're going to continue to strike and continue to break records."

The streak began in the 2017 playoffs with a 3 hit game in the Wild Card game victory for the D-Backs. Marte then got a hit in all 3 games against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLDS that year. That carried over into the 14 games he's played so far this postseason, recording a hit in each to give him the record.

Up next, game 3 of the World Series is on Monday night, with the series tied 1-1 ahead of 3 games in Arizona.
