When it rains, it pours. Orlando Arcia homered, Chadwick Tromp drove in a pair of runs, and the Atlanta Braves defeated the Houston Astros with a 6-2 victory Tuesday night in Houston.

The Braves picked up their 3rd straight win and dealt the Astros their 13th loss in the first 19 games of the season. Arcia, Luis Guillorme, and Chadwick Tromp all drove in two runs for the Braves as they secured the series win.

Arcia got the scoring started in the second inning, giving the Braves a 1-0 lead with a solo home run to left field. It stayed that way until the 7th inning, when Arcia doubled the lead to 2-0 with a sac fly that scored Austin Riley. In the top of the 9th, Guillorme doubled the lead again for the Braves with a two run double.

Later in the 9th, Tromp extended the Braves lead to 6-0, hitting a two run double of his own that plated Guillorme and Jarred Kelenic. In the bottom of the 9th, Kyle Tucker ended the shutout bid with a solo home run, making it 6-1. Mauricio Dubon then made it a 6-2 game with an RBI single that scored Jeremy Pena.

Braves manager Brian Snitker said of Tromp's two RBI game that "Tromp has done a good job ever since we've been bringing him in these situations and filling in. I've got all the confidence in the world in him back there. He's an aggressive hitter. He's knocked in some big runs for us in the limited time that he's played."

Reynaldo Lopez got the start for the Braves, giving up 4 hits and walking one while striking out 7 hitters in 6 shutout innings. Tyler Matzek and Joe Jimenez each worked a scoreless inning before Aaron Bummer allowed two runs in the 9th. Raisel Iglesias secured the save after Bummer was pulled.

Arcia said of Lopez that "He's a tremendous pitcher. He has good command of his pitches and you can tell he knows which counts to throw them. He’s been tremendous. Hopefully, he keeps it going."

Hunter Brown started for the Astros, allowing a pair of runs on 5 hits and 3 walks in 6 innings. Shawn Dubin gave up 4 runs over 2 1/3 innings of relief, with Forrest Whitley pitching the final 2/3 of an inning.

Astros manager Joe Espada said of the loss that "They pitched well and our guys are grinding at-bats. Even in the ninth inning, the guys are grinding, fighting to the end. We almost brought Altuve, the tying run to the plate. We forced them to use the closer, which is always a good thing. We can come back tomorrow and keep getting after it."

The series wraps up Wednesday afternoon. Max Fried gets the start for the Braves as they try to sweep the series while JP France goes for the Astros as they try to salvage a win in the series.
