Was this the return of the Bomba squad? Edouard Julien homered twice, Ryan Jeffers homered, and the Minnesota Twins defeated the Chicago White Sox with a 6-3 victory Thursday afternoon in Minneapolis.

Though the Twins won for just the 5th time in 10 games, they secured a 4 game sweep of the division rival White Sox with a 5 home run game, headlined by a two homer game from Julien. The White Sox, meanwhile, have fallen to 3-22, a franchise worst start and tied for the worst start in baseball history.

Julien said of getting the sweep that "It's going to be a good flight to L.A., right? Just, everybody's hit the ball, pretty much, this week. It's going to be good vibes on the flight, and I think we needed that for our mental state."

Kevin Pillar got the White Sox on the board in the second inning, giving the White Sox a 1-0 lead with a sac fly. In the 4th inning, Paul DeJong hit an RBI single that scored Andrew Vaughn to make it 2-0. In the 6th, Julien hit a solo home run, Jeffers hit a solo home run, and Willi Castro hit an RBI single to make it 3-2 Twins.

Julien hit his second solo home run of the day in the 7th inning to double the Twins lead to 4-2. In the 8th inning, the Twins pushed their lead to 6-2 on solo home runs from Carlos Santana and Jose Miranda. In the 9th inning, the White Sox got a run back when Nicky Lopez scored on an error, making it a 6-3 final score.

Jeffers said of the sweep "That's a full clubhouse of big league baseball players and we won four games. We could have easily come in here and not shown up, and lost some of these games. To be the team we want to be, you've got to beat the teams you're supposed to beat. We did a good job of that."

Simeon Woods-Richardson started for the Twins, giving up two runs while striking out 6 in 5 innings. Cole Sands pitched a scoreless 6th to get the win. Caleb Thielbar and Brock Stewart each threw scoreless innings. Steven Okert allowed a run in the 9th before Griffin Jax got the save.

Michael Soroka allowed two runs on 4 hits and two walks in 5 innings in his start for the White Sox. Tanner Banks gave up a run and didn't record an out before Jordan Leasure had a scoreless inning. John Brebbia allowed one run in one inning and Steven Wilson allowed two runs in an inning.

Soroka said of the White Sox's poor start that "Everybody wants it. We’ve been over this before: There’s no lack of effort that’s going into turning this thing around. At this point, we’ve talked about it and we want to be the group that does kind of make that change in this organization."

Both teams start weekend series on Friday night. Bailey Ober takes the mound for the Twins as they take on the Los Angeles Angels while Chris Flexen starts for the White Sox against the Tampa Bay Rays.
