Here comes the offense. Bo Bichette homered and drove in 3 runs, Davis Schneider had two RBI's, and the Toronto Blue Jays rolled past the Chicago White Sox with a 9-2 victory Wednesday in Toronto.

Following a shutout loss Tuesday, the Blue Jays bounced back in a big way in the series finale, riding a 7 run second inning to pick up the series win. Though still 22-26 on the season, it was a necessary performance for the Blue Jays offense, with the team needing to do anything to create momentum.

Bichette said after the game that "There’s more energy, more fight. Today, we scored runs and we kept scoring runs, which is incredibly important, down or up. We kept getting after it. It’s definitely been better."

Schneider got the big inning started for the Blue Jays with a single that scored Alejandro Kirk and Justin Turner to make it a 2-0 game. Daulton Varsho doubled the lead when he brought home two more runs with a triple. Varsho then scored on a Vladimir Guerrero Jr RBI single before Bichette hit a two run home run to make it 7-0.

It was smooth sailing at that point for Toronto, but they tacked on anyway. Two runs scored in the 4th on a single from Bichette and a throwing error to make it a 9-0 game. Tommy Pham got the White Sox on the board in the 8th, ending the shutout bid with a solo home run. Paul DeJong made it 9-2 later in the inning with a sac fly that scored Nicky Lopez.

Chris Bassitt had a strong start for the Blue Jays, striking out 4 hitters while pitching 7 scoreless innings, allowing 5 hits and two walks. Genesis Cabrera allowed two runs in the 8th before Nate Pearson pitched a scoreless 9th to seal the win.

On the mound for the White Sox was Nick Nastrini, who was lit up to the tune of 9 runs on 7 hits and 6 walks in 3 1/3 innings, getting the loss. Tanner Banks and Michael Soroka were used in relief, with each delivering 2 1/3 scoreless innings.

Nastrini said of his start "Definitely not the way we mapped that one out. I did a good job of getting to two strikes, I just didn’t execute. Going back and looking at film after that inning, there were good pitches that were around in the zone, but they weren't good enough. That's the whole day, it just wasn't good enough."

The Blue Jays hit the road for a Thursday tilt against the Detroit Tigers, with Kevin Gausman to start the series opening game. The White Sox head back home to host the Baltimore Orioles, with Mike Clevinger starting the first game of the 4 game set.
