One and one. JD Martinez drove in a pair of runs, Jose Iglesias scored the game winning run, and the New York Mets defeated the Philadelphia Phillies with a 6-5 victory Sunday in London.

Trailing 4-3 in the 9th inning, the Mets scored 3 times in the inning to rally past the Phillies to pick up a win and salvage a split of the two game set in London. All of the Mets' runs came over two innings, with each inning plating 3 runs for the Mets.

Kyle Schwarber scored on a groundout in the first inning to make it 1-0 Phillies. In the 4th inning, the Phillies made it 3-0 on an RBI double from Edmundo Sosa and an RBI single from Whit Merrifield. The Mets tied the game 3-3 in the 6th on an RBI double from Brandon Nimmo and a two run single from Martinez.

David Dahl put the Phillies ahead 4-3 in the 7th inning with a solo home run to right center field. In the top of the 9th, Mark Vientos hit an RBI single, Jeff McNeil scored on a hit by pitch and Iglesias crossed home on a passed ball to make it 6-4. The Phillies got one back on a bases loaded walk to make it a 6-5 game.

The game ended in quite the fashion. With the bases loaded and one out, Nick Castellanos hit a dribbler in front of home plate, with catcher Luis Torrens stepping on the plate for one out and firing to first for the second out, a very rare 2-3 double play to seal the win for the Mets.

Steve Cohen, owner of the Mets, said that "A perfect example is we bring in Luis Torrens, right? For $100,000, and he helps us win a game. When you’re fighting for a playoff spot, winning one game or winning two games really matters."

Jose Quintana lasted 3 2/3 innings for the Mets, allowing 3 runs. Danny Young and Jake Diekman pitched 2/3 of an inning while Dedniel Nunez and Reed Garrett pitched 1 2/3 innings each. Drew Smith got the save in the 9th inning.

Taijuan Walker pitched 5 2/3 innings in his start for the Phillies, giving up two runs. Gregory Soto was responsible for a run while Matt Strahm and Jeff Hoffman had scoreless appearances. Jose Alvarado gave up 3 runs in the 9th inning and Jose Ruiz also pitched.

Castellanos, one of the Phillies outfielders, said after the game that "It was a great experience, being able to come over to Europe and play two baseball games. Ideally, you want to win them both. We came away with a split. Now it’s go back and get ready for the Red Sox."

After Monday off, the Mets host the Miami Marlins on Tuesday, with Tylor Megill getting the series opening start. The Phillies travel to Boston to take on the Boston Red Sox, with Zack Wheeler starting Tuesday's series opener.
