Offense at Coors Field is always the name of the game. Brenton Doyle homered twice and drove in 3 runs, Jake Cave drove in the game winning run, and the Colorado Rockies defeated the Milwaukee Brewers with a 8-7 victory Monday night in Denver.

After a marathon extra innings win over the Chicago Cubs, the Rockies won in extra innings again as they won their second straight game. Both teams traded momentum throughout the game. Doyle's two homer, 3 RBI game made him a big contributor for the Rockies.

Doyle said of his two homer game "It's huge. Especially in a game like this, where one run was the winning run. A grinder game yesterday, 14 innings, and to come here and win another one in extras is pretty awesome."

The Rockies took a 2-0 lead in the second inning on a two run home run by Doyle. In the 3rd, Charlie Blackmon hit a solo home run to make the lead 3-0. In the 4th, the Brewers tied the game 3-3 on a two run single by Jackson Chourio and an RBI single by Blake Perkins. In the top of the 5th, William Contreras made it 4-3 Brewers with a solo home run. In the bottom of the 5th, a run scoring force out and an RBI single by Brendan Rodgers put the Rockies ahead 5-4.

Nolan Jones hit an RBI double in the 6th inning that scored Doyle to make it 6-4 Rockies. In the top of the 8th, the Brewers took a 7-4 lead on RBI singles from Willy Adames and Eric Haase plus a sac fly by Rhys Hoskins that scored Adames. Doyle tied the game in the bottom of the 8th with a solo home run. Cave singled in Aaron Schunk in the 10th for the walk off win.

Cave said of the walk off hit that "All I was really thinking about is, if it gets to me, get the job done. Calm the breathing down. Be ready to go. And luckily, he left one up and I could get the job done. I was pumped. That was awesome. I almost fell because I was looking at the dugout so hard. I've dreamed about it as a little kid. I hope I get an opportunity to do it again."

Austin Gomber allowed 4 runs on 9 hits over 6 innings in his start for the Rockies. Anthony Molina allowed 3 runs over 1 1/3 innings before a bullpen trio of Justin Lawrence, Victor Vodnik, and Tyler Kinley held the Brewers scoreless for the rest of the night.

Rob Zastryzny pitched the first inning as an opener for Bryse Wilson, who allowed 5 runs in 4 innings pitched. Hoby Milner allowed a run in two innings and Elvis Peguero allowed a run in one inning. Trevor Megill pitched a scoreless 9th before Joel Payamps took the loss in the 10th.

Milwaukee manager Pat Murphy said after the game "I'm proud of our guys. They hung in there. They got behind early and came battling back and had some opportunities. We didn't execute in the end the way we needed to, and credit to the Rockies for coming up with big hits. They probably had 15-16 hard contacts today. Credit to them."

Game two of the series is set for Tuesday night. Ryan Feltner gets the start for the Rockies as they go for their 3rd straight win, while Dallas Keuchel takes the mound for the Brewers in his second start of the season in the majors.
