This team is starting to pick it up. Corey Seager homered and drove in two runs, Marcus Semien drove in two of his own, and the Texas Rangers defeated the Los Angeles Angels with a 9-4 victory Monday night in Anaheim.

The Rangers offense extended their hot streak, giving the team their 4th straight win as they moved to 5 games below .500 at 43-48. After a 19 hit outburst in a rout over the Tampa Bay Rays, the Rangers followed that up with 12 hits a day later, with Seager also pushing his hit streak to 13 games.

Rangers first baseman Nathaniel Lowe said "I think it’s just a matter of time with this offense. We’re poised to really make some things happen, so nobody in here is going to be surprised if we bust out a bunch of wins in a row or score a lot of runs. It’s not crunch time, but we understand that we need to start the push now."

Seager got the scoring started early for the Rangers, blasting a two run home run to center field in the first inning to make it 2-0 Rangers. In the second inning, Mickey Moniak tied the game 2-2 with a two run triple to right field. Jo Adell then scored Moniak with a single to make it 3-2 Angels. Wyatt Langford scored on a balk in the 4th inning, tying the game back up.

Later in the inning, Lowe gave the Rangers a 4-3 lead with a single that scored Adolis Garcia. Leody Taveras extended the lead to 5-3 as Lowe scored on his single. Semien then drove in a pair of runs with a two run single to make it a 7-3 game. Langford made it 9-3 in the top of the 7th with a two run home run to left field. Anthony Rendon made it 9-4 with an RBI single.

Texas manager Bruce Bochy said of Langford after his homer "He’s going to have some kind of career. He’s a special player that’s just getting better and better. I think he’ll tell you that he’s just getting more and more comfortable. You start playing every day in the big leagues when you were in college last year. That’s not easy. I just love the way that after the injury, he came back and reset and has been so solid."

Jon Gray was the starting pitcher for the Rangers and allowed 3 runs on 5 hits and a walk in 5 innings. Jose Urena allowed one run in 1 2/3 innings before David Robertson, Jose Leclerc, and Josh Sborz held the Angels scoreless after that.

Davis Daniel was tagged for 7 runs on 8 hits across 3 2/3 innings in his start for the Angels, getting the loss. Carson Fulmer handled the next 3 innings, giving up a pair of runs. Jose Marte pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings and Hans Crouse worked a scoreless 9th inning.

Game two of the 3 game set is lined up for Tuesday night. The Rangers go for the series win and their 5th win in a row behind starter Max Scherzer. Roansy Contreras takes the mound for the Angels in what could end up being a bullpen game.
