What a way to wrap this up. Luken Baker homered, Nolan Arenado had a walk off grand slam, and the St. Louis Cardinals rallied to defeat the Milwaukee Brewers with a 10-6 victory Wednesday night in St. Louis.

The comeback snaps the Brewers 6 game winning streak, though it's just the Cardinals 3rd win in 10 games. For Arenado, it was his 5th career walk off home run and the 6th grand slam of his career, and it put the Cardinals in position to win the series against the division leading Brewers.

St. Louis manager Oli Marmol said "With Ortiz’s ball to the wall, you could easily just fold there and go, ‘Here we go again,’ but that’s the last thing on their minds. They’re resilient. I mentioned it. This group is not going to give in. I love this group. They’re going to fight and give it their best shot. They did exactly that tonight."

Tommy Pham started the scoring for the Cardinals in the 4th inning with a sac fly that scored Arenado. Masyn Winn added an RBI single to make it 2-0. In the 5th, a sac fly from Joey Ortiz made it 2-1 before William Contreras tied the game with an RBI double in the 6th. Jackson Chourio gave the Brewers a 4-2 lead in the top of the 7th with a two run single before Baker tied the game in the bottom of the inning with a pinch hit, two run home run.

Ortiz came up big for the Brewers in the 8th with a two run double to the gap to make it 6-4 Brewers. In the 9th, the Cardinals tied it 6-6 when Pham and Matt Carpenter each drew a walk with the bases loaded. That set the stage for Arenado in the 10th, who drilled a grand slam to left field to give the Cardinals the walk off win.

Arenado said after the game "It’s been tough, and I haven’t come through the way that I would like, and I had a really poor at-bat in the ninth, so it just felt really good to come through for the guys. It just felt good to come through. If I didn’t come through there, I don’t know how people would look at me anymore. At the end of the day, I’m just trying to do my best. I haven’t been helping us win as much as I would like, but today was a really good day."

Kyle Gibson allowed two runs in 5 1/3 innings in his start for the Cardinals, striking out 5 hitters. Ryan Fernandez allowed two runs in one inning before JoJo Romero and Andrew Kittredge each allowed one. Matthew Liberatore, Shawn Armstrong, and Ryan Helsley each had scoreless appearances.

Tobias Myers lasted 4 innings in his start for the Brewers, allowing two runs. Joe Ross pitched two scoreless innings before Bryan Hudson gave up two runs in one inning. Joel Payamps pitched a scoreless 8th before Devin Williams blew his first save of the year in the 9th, allowing one hit and walking 3. Trevor Megill allowed the grand slam in the 10th.

Milwaukee manager Pat Murphy said of Williams' blown save "He got tired. He got tired for sure, going on back-to-back nights for the second time this year. He gave up a hit by pitch and a ball down the right-field line, a good piece of hitting, and then lost his command."

The series finale is on tap for Thursday afternoon. Both teams are going for the series win, with Miles Mikolas starting for the Cardinals against Milwaukee's Freddy Peralta.
