Junior Caminero homered and drove in two runs, Jose Caballero hit the game winning homer, and the Tampa Bay Rays defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers with a 9-8 extra innings victory Saturday night in Los Angeles.

Despite coughing up an early lead, the Rays were able to come out on top of a back and forth tilt to come up with their 6th win in 10 games and get over .500 at 65-64 on the season. Two highly touted players in Caminero and Caballero were the drivers of the win for the Rays.

Caballero said after the game "It feels good to take the win. Whenever we take the win, throw out how we win. If we lose, we can talk about the details. But when we win, it's just a party. We won the game."

It was Caminero who gave the Rays a 1-0 lead in the first inning with an RBI single. Christopher Morel added an RBI double before Jonny DeLuca's two run single made it 4-0 Rays. In the 4th, the Dodgers made it 4-3 on an RBI double by Mookie Betts and a two run homer by Teoscar Hernandez. Josh Lowe made it 5-3 in the 5th with a sac fly before an RBI single by Miguel Rojas made it a 5-4 game.

After Rojas' RBI single, Shohei Ohtani homered down the right field line to give the Dodgers a 6-5 lead. Rojas added a solo shot in the 7th inning to make it 7-5. In the 8th, Yandy Diaz drove in a run on a sac fly before Caminero added the tying homer in the 9th, making it 7-7. In the 10th, Caballero added a two run blast to make it 9-7 before a sac fly from Betts trimmed the deficit to 9-8, a score that went final.

Caballero talked about his big homer, saying "There's not a better feeling than that. After having the lead almost the whole game and then, at the end, losing the lead and coming back like that is amazing."

Taj Bradley allowed 6 runs on 7 hits while striking out 5 hitters in 6 innings in his start for the Rays. Joel Kuhnel allowed a run over two scoreless innings before Manuel Rodriguez pitched a scoreless 9th inning. Garrett Cleavinger got the save in the 10th, his 4th of the season.

Getting the start for the Dodgers was Clayton Kershaw, who allowed 5 runs on 9 hits and two walks in 5 innings pitched. Ryan Brasier and Blake Treinen each worked a scoreless inning before Michael Kopech and Evan Phillips each allowed a run in one inning. Joe Kelly took the loss in the 10th inning with two runs allowed.

The series finale is set for Sunday afternoon. With the series win still up for grabs, Jacob Lopez starts for the Rays in what figures to be a bullpen game for them. The Dodgers give the ball to Gavin Stone.
