There is nothing like the Cincinnati sensation. Noelvi Marte homered, Elly De La Cruz drove in 3 runs, and the Cincinnati Reds rolled past the Miami Marlins with a 10-3 victory Monday night in Miami.

With a two homer, 4 hit, 3 RBI day, De La Cruz became the 3rd player in Reds history and 14th in baseball since 1901 to hit at least 20 homers and steal 50 bases in a season, and the first Reds player since Eric Davis in 1986. He also became the youngest Reds player with 4 extra base hits in a game since 1901.

Reds starting pitcher Nick Martinez said of De La Cruz's talents "It's really special to watch. Suter did the math in the dugout, I think he had a total exit velocity of like 490-something today? He was absolutely crushing the ball.

De La Cruz also became the 3rd player in baseball history to record a 20/50 season at age 22 and the youngest primary shortstop to reach the 20/50 mark. It gave the Reds their 5th win in 10 games to improve to 54-58 on the season.

It was De La Cruz who gave the Reds the early lead, hitting a two run homer in the first to make it 2-0 quickly. In the 3rd, Jonathan India scored on a pair of errors and De La Cruz scored on a sac fly to double the lead to 4-0. In the 4th, Marte made it 6-0 with a two run homer and Ty France hit a solo shot in the 5th to make it a 7-0 Reds lead.

Jesus Sanchez got the Marlins on the board in the 6th with a towering 480 foot solo homer, making it 7-1. In the 7th, Ali Sanchez scored on a groundout and Jonah Bride added an RBI single to make it 7-3. De La Cruz added a solo homer in the 8th to make it 8-3 before a two run double by Jake Fraley in the 9th made it a 10-3 win for the Reds.

Cincinnati manager David Bell said of De La Cruz "Loves to play. He had a good game the last game on the last road trip, I gave him an off-day the next day, I think it got him out of his rhythm a little bit and he just kept fighting to find his timing and rhythm. We knew he'd get it back, and today everything kind of came together for him. So I think the idea now is to hold on to that, we should be able to do that. He just works so hard and plays hard every single day and clearly helped us win the game tonight."

Martinez made his first start since May 22 and delivered 5 scoreless innings for the Reds. Jakob Junis was tagged for 3 runs in 1 2/3 innings before Buck Farmer pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings. Justin Wilson pitched a shutout 9th inning to close out the win.

Roddery Munoz was the starting pitcher for the Marlins and got hit to the tune of 6 runs on 7 hits and 3 walks, though only 4 runs were earned. He added a pair of strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings. Shaun Anderson added a long relief appearance, giving up 4 runs on 8 hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Game two of the 4 game set is lined up for Tuesday night. The Reds look to win the first two games as Nick Lodolo gets the start, while the Marlins try to even the series behind starting pitcher Max Meyer.
