The good news for Yankees fans is that Miguel Andujar is back from the IL, and Giancarlo Stanton is close to a return. The bad news is that they just lost another player to the IL. James Paxton has been placed on the 10 day IL with left knee inflammation, the team announced around 5 hours ago. He was removed from yesterday's start against the Minnesota Twins due to knee soreness. Right hander Jake Barrett was called up from Triple A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to replace the oft-injured Paxton.

The Washington Nationals have placed OF Juan Soto on the 10 day IL retroactive to May 1 due to back spasms. Soto is coming off a 20 homer season that finished with him in second in NL rookie of the year voting, behind Ronald Acuna Jr. Soto was hitting .248 with 6 homers to start off the season. Ryan Zimmerman, Anthony Rendon, and Trea Turner are also on the IL. Andrew Stevenson has been called up from Triple A Fresno to replace Soto.

The Pittsburgh Pirates have placed Jameson Taillon on the 10 day IL with a right elbow flexor strain. In corresponding moves, Pablo Reyes was sent down to Triple A Indianapolis, while Kevin Newman and Tyler Lyons were called up. Taillon has a 4.10 ERA over 7 starts this season.
